IMDH road: Mokokchung youth bodies serve ultimatum on DC

Youth associations of the four wards of Mokokchung town have demanded that the responsible authority repair the road leading to Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) within six days.
In an ultimatum dated on November 24, 2022 addressed to the DC Mokokchung, presidents of the youth associations of the four wards—Penli, Majakong, Lijaba Lijen and Artang wards—warned that failure on the part the “concerned authority” to respond positively, they would block the road starting from Main Police Point to Sewak Gate Junction “unconditionally.”
They bodies reminded that a representation was submitted to the deputy commissioner (DC) and all the concerned for repair and maintenance of the road on August 23, but was ignored. The associations said they had also appealed to the chief minister through the deputy commissioner on November 17, but did not receive response.
“With all the ignorance shown by the concerned authority, we are deeply grieved towards the ill-attitude of those who are elected and assigned to look after the welfare of the citizens,” the associations said.
It may be mentioned that Ao Senden and the All Ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUMT) have also on November 22 through separate press statements demanded the chief minister to release the funds reportedly earmarked for the maintenance of the said road.
