Dimapur destruction committee on January 30 destroyed a total of 7843 numbers of assorted Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) seized by the police stations under Dimapur Police Commissionerate at Burma Camp dumping site.
A press release by Dimapur police PRO stated that the pretrial destruction was necessitated to ensure zero pilferage and misappropriation of seized liquor. The destruction committee members and witness were led by Public Prosecutor, Dimapur, Hutoi as chairman.
IMFL seized: Dimapur District Excise duty party manning New Field Inter-State Excise checkgate intercepted a truck (NL01AE 3666) and recovered 1000 cases of assorted IMFL concealed under confectionary items on January 26. In this connection, one person identified as Ismail Hassan (23), son of Asinddin Bhuyan resident of Goalpara, lower Assam was arrested and booked under the relevant sections of the NLTP Act 1989.
Mokokchung: A total of 215 cases of IMLF seized on different occasion was destroyed on January 28 at Mokokchung. A DIRP report informed that the seized consignment was destroyed in the presence of SDO(C), Mokokchung, SDPO, Mokokchung, assistant public prosecutor, Mokokchung, prosecuting inspector, Mokokchung and representatives from the NGOs.
