Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) in collaboration with the law enforcing agencies of Pfutsero destroyed IMFL seized by the volunteers during election, at the premise of ADC office on Tuesday.
The IMFL were seized by the volunteers of CMA manning the check gates at the recently concluded state assembly election.
Additional Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer, Japheth Woch, who was present at the destruction of the liquor, said Pfutsero Constituency was one of the “most peaceful” election with no hiccups.
He appreciated Chakhesang Clean Election Movement under whom CMA spearheaded the activities during the election.
OC Pfutsero Police Station Lulun Singson informed that the IMFL destroyed were “unclaimed”.
He added this was the second time that IMFL were destroyed in Pfutsero and said that the seizures were made due to team work.
He appreciated the initiative of the Pfutsero Mothers’ Association.
CMA president Zhonelu Tunyi said the check gate initiative was started with zero budget but with contribution from the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council and various other organisations and individuals.
CPO president Vezuhu Keyho and CCEM chairman Rev. Vezopa Rhakho also spoke at the destruction programme.
Earlier, executive secretary of CBCC, Chekrove-i Cho said the prayer before the IMFL were destroyed.
