Information on special summary revision of photo e-Rolls

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nagaland, Vyasan R has informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Photo Electoral Rolls w.r.t. January 1, 2024 as the qualifying date, and has declared the schedule of activities.


In a press release, CEO Nagaland has issued the following schedule of activities – publication of integrated draft electoral roll, October 27, 2023; period of filing claims & objections, October 27, 2023 to December 12, 2023; special campaign dates, November 3-4, 2023 and November 17-18, 2023; disposal of claims and objections, December 26, 2023; checking of health parameters and obtaining commission’s permission for final publication and updating database and printing of supplements, January 1, 2024; final publication of electoral roll, January 10, 2024.


The CEO Nagaland has informed that SSR would be conducted with reference to January 1, 2024 as qualifying date, with three subsequent qualifying dates, i.e., April 1, July 1 and October 1 of the year in which the final publication of electoral roll was done.

For the current revision, CEO Nagaland said the applicants, becoming eligible for registration with January 1, 2024 as the qualifying date and subsequent qualifying dates of the year i.e., April 1, July 1 and October 1, 2024 can submit their claims in Form – 6 in advance, beginning from the date of draft publication of electoral roll.


CEO Nagaland said the applications received related to qualifying date January 1, 2024 would be processed as per the above schedule and electoral roll will be updated with final publication. While the forms/claims with reference to three subsequent qualifying dates of the year, received in advance, during the SSR period and continuous updation thereafter shall be processed by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) under continuous updation during the relevant quarter.


CEO Nagaland has informed that the use of Forms as the following –
Form 6 – Application for new voter/elector; Form 6B – Letter of information of Aadhar number on a voluntary basis for the purpose of electoral roll authentication; Form 7 – Application form for objection for proposed inclusion/deletion of name in existing electoral roll; Form 8 – Application form for shifting of residence/correction of entries in existing electoral roll/replacement of EPIC/marking of PwD.


Further, CEO Nagaland has informed that citizens can file any of the above Forms with the concerned Booth Level Officer (BLO) or with the AERO and ERO. It has informed that forms will be available for download in ECI and CEO’s website, and that applications can also be filed/submitted online through www.voters.eci.gov.in (links are provided in the ECI and CEO’s website) or mobile app – VHA (voter helpline app), which will be available for download in Google play store and Apple app store.


Chümoukedima: In view of the SSR of photo electoral rolls w.r.t January 1, 2024 as the qualifying date, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Election Officer (DEO) Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam has informed that the draft publication was scheduled to be published on October 27, 12 noon at the Conference Hall of DC Chümoukedima Office. AEROs, 4 Ghaspani 1 and 5 Ghaspani II, the supervisors, 4 Ghaspani 1 and 5 Ghaspani II and all concerned national and regional political parties under Chümoukedima have been asked to attend the programme.


Kohima: Additional Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) Kohima, Rhosietho Nguori, has informed that the draft publication program for the ensuing special summary revision of photo electoral roll has been scheduled on October 27, 11 a.m. at the Conference Hall of DC Kohima Office.
All the political parties have been informed to attend the said programme as the copies of draft roll (one hard copy and one soft copy) would be handed over to the recognised political parties during the programme.
