Jacob Zhimomi asks departments to prepare for monsoon

In view of the monsoon season, minister of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Jacob Zhimomi asked all responsible departments under Niuland district to be prepared for any monsoon-induced disasters.
According to a DIPR report, Zhimomi, who is also the chairman of Niuland District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), was addressing the monthly meeting of DPDB on May 11 at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Niuland office.
The minister cautioned the departments that this year’s monsoon could be “very harsh” for the district and advised them to be fully prepared.
Stating that DC Niuland and vice chairman DPDB, Sara S Jamir has convened a meeting of all departments on May 16 for the same, Zhimomi directed respective departments to prepare a monsoon preparedness plan for further deliberation.
Underscoring the importance of empowering youth of the district, he asked all the stakeholders to provide platform to the youth.
The minister also directed departments yet to establish office in the newly district to put up the proposal through the district administration for necessary action.
