Jacob inaugurates indoor badminton stadium

Nagaland PHE minister, Jacob Zhimomi, inaugurated the indoor badminton stadium of Achiku Muqo Society (AMS) at Block-5/6 Chekiye village, here on Saturday.
Under the non-government fund project, the construction of the stadium started in March 2019 completed in December 2022 costing approximately Rs.1 crore. Speaking at the inaugural programme, Jacob lauded AMS for their good deeds and gesture towards the society with the focus on games and sports.
Highlighting various central sports schemes such as “Khelo India” “Fit India movement” etc, the minister said the centre has introduced various programme to give importance to sports and games.
Jacob said that sports and games were not just for fun or hobby, but have become profession these days.
Stating that “Youth are the assets of the country and state”, the minister encouraged them to have competitive spirit and focus not only on getting government job but also focus on other skilful areas.
Construction report was shared by construction convenor Hotoi Aye while CGBA Rev. Dr. Toniho Kiho led the dedicatory prayer.
AMS president Inaholi Jakha, while proposing vote of thanks, shared about the formation of Achiku Muqo Society, which was established in 2007. Earlier, invocation was proposed by CGBA women pastor Dr Kanili Aye, special number was presented by AMS I/c Vikali A and Lucy I, greeting message was delivered by Chekiye village council, chairman Hukavi Zhimomi and later AMS ex-president Vitoni H Yepthomi gave benediction.
