JDU hopeful of early solution: NSN Lotha

Staff Reporter

State JDU unit expressed hope for an early political solution to the vexed Naga issue.
State JDU president NSN Lotha said that though it was the prerogative of the Centre to deliver a unique and honorable solution to the Naga issue, since it had officially recognized the uniqueness of Nagas, the issue of flag and constitution needed to be addressed.
Lotha said JDU had been meeting leaders of the negotiating parties, and would be doing so even in the future. He also claimed that JDU was the first political party to stage a “Dharna” at Delhi for Naga political solution.
Addressing the media here at hotel Saramati to welcome three former BJP district presidents who joined the JDU–Seyiekhrielie Nagi (Kohima unit), Tingsangmai Pamei (Peren unit) and Yanthungo Kikon (Wokha Unit), NSN Lotha said the three former BJP leaders made the right decision by leaving BJP and joining JDU, saying the BJP had failed the Nagas.
The three former BJP leaders said that the BJP could not fulfill its top-most commitment– “Election for Solution” as promised during the 2018 state assembly election.
They said that BJP was not sincere in fining honorable solution to the vexed Naga political issue, but was only interested in clinging to power without fulfilling the desire of Naga people for peaceful solution.
When asked about the reason for joining JDU, they said the party (JDU) under the leadership of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and national JDU president Rajiv Ranjan (alias-Lalan Singh), was committed to work for peaceful resolution of the vexed Naga political issue.
They also said that they had lost faith and confidence in the leadership of the State BJP, both at the organizational and government level.
