JWLCCS holds annual general body meeting at Mima village

Japfüphi Women Livelihoods and Credit Cooperative Society (JWLCCS) held its 8th Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav-Inclusive Development and the ongoing Sangathan Se Samriddhi at Mima village, around 18 Km from Kohima.
Special guest at the event, joint secretary, Rural Development and mission director, NSRLM, Kohima, Imtimenla, said the mission was a community based institution.
She said Jakhama was the first and best block in the State which had also won numerous awards over the years and has been an exemplary block for years now.
She said the AGBM of JWLCCS was part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration which was taken up by all the departments with various programmes of their own.
She pointed out that NRLM was PM Modi’s brainchild which aims to have atleast 10 crore SHG members by September, 2023, which was being undertaken through special mobilization programs.
“Under this initiative there are different projects taken up, NRLSM is women centric, this is the biggest women centric programme in the world. We are also part of that movement. We have defunct SHGs as well but when you go back do share it with your family, neighbours and others. Try to mobilise more people,” she said.
Imtimenla also pointed out that the drive for Lakhpati Didi was being monitored from the highest level.
Under this program a woman from a household should be able to earn one lakh annually.
She pointed out that under Jakhama block there were 56 women who were in the lakhpati didi category already.
She said nationwide there was a need to make 2 cr SHG women into Lakhpati didi and therefore Nagaland also should be part of the target.
She said there were many successful ones in Jakhama block however the growth should not be hampered and accordingly strive to make Jakhama block also 100 pc Lakhpati Didi.
She said any initiative the mission takes up they ensure that only trained people were involved.
She pointed out that piggery was the one of the best ways to become lakhpati didi.
“If we have the determination and the will, we can also shine.
If we pay interest, learn new things and work hard then we can also be at par with other successful people,” she told the gathering.
Sharing the keynote address, Block Program Manager, DAY-NSRLM, BMMU RD Block, Jakhama, Vitsituo Mepfhüo said the main vision and objective of the mission was primarily to reduce poverty.
He said Jakhama block was formed on August 10, 2016 and eversince then it had been witnessing a gradual growth and that it has passed the nurturing and now was in the hand holding support. He said although the block faced issues as banks were also reluctant to extend loans to the SHGs.
However, Mepfhüo said, after the first 11 SHGs showed great promise and repaid the borrowed money on time banks were now coming forward with loan proposals without any hesitation.
He pointed out that the block had now more than 300 SHGs and 70 VLOs.
Handing out the CRP-EP certifications, chief operating officer (Skills), DAY-NSRLM, Nagaland, Kohima, Menuoneituo Chadi said seven of them had been certified by the ministry.
He hoped that more members would be able to get certified in the days to come.
Earlier the meeting was chaired by JWLCCS finance secretary, Sevono Paphino while invocation was pronounced by EC member, Khrietsono Sachü.
JWLCCS president, Neilakuonuo Livi extended the welcome address while EC member recited the vision statement and audit report was given by treasurer Beizono Neihu.
A short speech was given by Mima village council chairman, Kamo Leno while JWLCCS vice president, Zasibino Tachü proposed the vote of thanks and Cholvile Sachü pronounced the benediction.
A special number was presented by Noupuo VLO, Mima village.
The meeting was organised by Japfüphi Thenuko Block Level Federation (JTBLF) and promoted by Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM).
