A water supply project and village entrance gate at Khulazu Bawe were inaugurated by Dr. Chotisuh Sazo MLA and District Programme Officer (Social Welfare), Mokokchung, Meshusayi Tetseo respectively on December 31, 2022.
In a short speech at the inaugural programme, Dr Sazo said the UDA government headed by chief minister Neiphiu Rio had been trying its best to facilitate the Naga political solution.
Sazo said Rio had led all the 60 elected representatives of the 11th Legislative Assembly to meet with the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Union Ministers during which the former apprised them about the political talks and requested them to bring about an early solution.
Even in the 12th House, Dr. Sazo said when he was NLA Speaker, the PWC went to Delhi twice and met Prime Minister, home minister and other union ministers and leaders of various national political parties.
In the present 13th House of NLA, he said that under the leadership of Rio, Parliamentary Committee on Naga Political Issue was formed with all 60 legislators and 2 MPs out of which a Core Committee consisting of political parties, tribes and MPs have had several meetings with different groups of Naga political Groups and Government of India representatives and union home minister.
However, Sazo said since the legislators were only facilitators, the final settlement or solution depended on government of India and the negotiating parties.
He said that if solution did not arrive, the state general election to the 14th House of NLA would be held in time along with other states which was likely to be held in the later part of February or first week of March 2023.
He opined that it was important to choose the right leader and the right party which would go on to form the government and subsequently speak and work for the people.
Stating that votes were precious, he requested the villagers to vote consciously and not sell their vote, which he added was their right.
The programme was chaired by NDPP 18th Chozuba A/C, general secretary, Veyizo Kezo, while Khulazu Bawe village council chairman Khusahü Medeo delivered welcome address.
