Dedication and declaration programme of Republican Party of India RPI (A) candidate for 5 Ghaspani II A/C, Z Kasheto Yeptho, was held at his private residence at Chekiye Village, on Thursday. While declaration programme for NDPP candidate for 24 Angetyong A/C and former minister of PWD (Housing & Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum was held on Thursday in Mokokchung.
Z Kasheto Yeptho: Addressing the gathering, Yepthomi disclosed that he was contesting the election because he had made a commitment to God to serve him by serving the people.
He informed that his main priority of joining politics was to uplift the downtrodden and the needy and to look into the affairs of the unemployed youths.
He maintained that he would try his best to eradicate unemployment in the state, and openly claimed that he was contesting to serve the public. “Consider me as a peon as I am here to serve you”, he stated.
He thanked all supporters and party workers for having faith and trust in him.
He alleged that public of the constituency had suffered for the last 10 years and said that time has now come to wipe off the tears of those who had been suffering. He appealed all to work harder by adding that if we believed in God, there was nothing a man could not accomplish.
Stressing on equal opportunities for all, he vowed that with commitment, he will serve the people.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by personal secretary to Z Kasheto Yeptho, Zasivi Meyase, invocation offered by associate women pastor Chekiye Ghami Baptist Akukuhou (CGBA), Dr. Kanili and welcome address was delivered by campaign director, RPI (A), Joseph Lotha.
Short speeches were also delivered by Head GB, Khehokhu village, Hokiye Yeptho, state president RPI (A), Athawale, Mughato Aye, president RPI (A) Teneikuolie Krose, chief agent RPI (A), Tokihe Zhimo, personal secretary, Zasivi Meyase, GB Lotovi village, Vikheto Kiba, Advisor RPI (A), Chungkam Singson, GB Nikhekhu, Hozheto Sumi and party members RPI (A) Kejingkhum Yimkhuing.
A special number was also presented by NK Naga, while dedicatory prayer was offered by pastor CGBA, Toniho Kiho.
Vote of thanks was proposed by campaign director, RPI (A), Gohu Angami and benediction by associate pastor CGBA, Kisheto Aomi.
Tongpang Ozukum: Former Minister of PWD (Housing & Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum, who represented and won, as an Independent candidate from the 24 Angetyong A/C, declared his willing candidature to contest from the cited constituency, Thursday, at Longkong and Chakpa villages, with NDPP ticket.
While declaring his NDPP (ticket) candidature at Longkong village, Tongpang Ozukum paid his gratitude to the constituency for having faith in him to serve the constituency, as well as for the people of Nagaland. Tongpang stated that he has a vision to provide future for Nagaland, not only the constituency and Mokokchung district, alone. He appealed to the people (voters) to let him achieve his dreams and objectives for a brighter future by electing him.
Earlier short speeches were delivered by president NDPP Mokokchung Region, N Bendang Jamir, CEB NDPP Nagaland, Ex-MLA Aolepden and a host of speakers from the NDPP & BJP party district frontals.
The declaration programme, at Longkong, was chaired by Talimoa while the village council chairman of Longkong Meyalepden delivered the welcome note and the invocation was said by pastor, Longkong Baptist Church. Vote of thanks was proposed by A Jongpong Jamir
