A three-day “Father School” was organised for the inmates of Mon District Jail by Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjüm (KBBB) Ministry of Father School and sponsored by KBBB women department on May 2-4.
A press release by KBBB stated that main resource persons, church and evangelism secretary, Rev. L. Metjen and the education and literature secretary, Rev. A. Peihwang Wangsa facilitated the course of the “Father School” for 26 fathers under the theme, “A loving father makes a loving family”.
The three-day programme concluded with “touch of feet-washing ceremony” by the resource persons with the help of volunteers namely vice principal of Mon Theological College, Bangwang Wangsa, KBBB evangelist, Thaochi, KBBB computer assistant, Tonnei and the District Jail Chaplain, Yeangvei.
KBBB said the programme was first of its kind held in Mon District Jail, and that the inmates expressed gratitude for the service. KBBB said it realised the essential need of jail ministry where the church needed to extend its “Caring ministry” in the days to come.
