In an effort to eradicate “anti-social menace facing Naga society”, Khango-led NSCN/GPRN has resolved to strictly check and penalise anyone dealing in illegal substance like drugs, alcohol and tobacco products. In a press release, NSCN (Khango) secretary, M.K. Lotha informed that the resolution was adopted during an emergency council of kilonsers meeting on March 8, after NSCN (K) ato kilonser, Hokato Vusshe assumed office.
NSCN said it “strongly view this activities detrimental to the upcoming younger generations as many youths have been affected so far and if left unchecked/shows leniency to those involved, the figure could go up even higher in the near future”.
To make Nagaland a “secure and free illegal substance abuse society,” the NSCN has sought cooperation form the state agencies, hohos, civil societies, churches, student bodies and public. Further, NSCN has warned those person(s) patronizing smugglers/dealers to be held responsible and warned of stern action, adding that it was firm on eradicating the anti-social menace at any cost. NSCN said it would carry out checking from time to time and has sought the cooperation of the general populace. For immediate redressal, one has been asked to contact at 8787448047.
