Kohima DDMA meet discusses disaster management activities

Kohima District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in its quarterly meeting Friday discussed measures and modalities relating to disaster management.
According to a DIPR report, chairperson of the meeting, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohima, Shanavas C while referring to revision of the District Disaster Management Plan (DDMP) asked all line departments to provide inputs and suggestions to be incorporated in the plan. He asked them to set a target to complete the plan by January 2023.
Reviewing the last meeting minutes, in regard to the India Disaster Resource Network (IDRN) portal, Shanavas reminded the departments who have not submitted the updated data to submit it at the earliest.
The meeting also discussed on the complexity of the Incident Response System (IRS) structure and other issues in regard to disaster management activities and decided to take up the matters in the next meeting.
With regard to distribution of relief rice, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kohima, Rhosietho Nguori informed that the district level distributing committee has been set by the government for distribution activities.
He informed that some amount had been sanction in this regard, where the house decided to have a meeting with all the area administrative officers and other concerned officers to work out the modality for distribution activities under the district.
