Kohima District Basketball Association (KDBA) held its selection trial for both men and women teams to represent the district during the upcoming Nagaland Olympics and Paralympic Games (NOPG) 2022.
A total of 60 players including 20 men and 40 women turned up for the trials held at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima on Saturday.
The shortlist for the men’s team has been announced and players include: Salew Kadete, Kelhoukhrielie Dzüvichü, Seyievizo Kire, Thejangulie Mekro, Kevipfhelie Kevin Rutsa, Sharman Lama, Ruopfühetuo Solo, Chumbemo Kikon, Dziesekhrielie Belho, Keneizelhou Kevin Tale, Kevi Christopher Paphino and Keneitseizo Belho.
The team will be headed by Khrielasakuo Keretsü as the coach and Tosovi Jordan Mekro as the manager.
The shortlist for women’s team is likely to be announced by August 9 which would be followed by coaching sessions. He informed that KDBA was planning to organise inter-club championship for Kohima District soon. For this, he said only registered clubs under KDBA would be able to participate and that registration was underway. He informed interested clubs to contact any of the KDBA officials for further information.
