Kohima police traffic advisory for G20 meet

With various programmes planned at different locations G20 Business Summit at Kohima town from April 4-6, 2023, the Kohima police have put in place traffic plan for three days to ensure smooth conduct of the summit and in the interest of public convenience.
According to Kohima police PRO, the following locations have been declared as ‘No Parking Zones’— Aradura Retreat to TCP Gate via Mohonkhola/BOC/PHQJn/Classic Island/SKV petrol pumb; TCP Gate to High School Junction via Phoolbari/Old NST/ Razhu Point/Kezieke/Teenpati and High School Junction to Vivor Hotel via Ruzhukhrie GHSS/DUDA Guest House.
PRO warned that any vehicle parked within or in the ROW (Right of Way) of a two-lane road within Kohima Municipal limits would be towed and penalized. Further, PRO said that towing charges would be recovered from the vehicle owner. ROW can be identified by the white longitudinal marking on the left and right side of any major road.
Parking for car passes: vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ would be parked at the CCH; vehicles with car pass ‘D’ would be parked at the location (melaground) opposite CCH and vehicles with car pass ‘Y’ would be parked at the Multi-Level Car Parking at Old Medical Directorate.
Parking at Banquet Hall: vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ would be parked at the CM’s official complex; vehicles with car pass ‘D’ would be parked outside the CM’s official complex and vehicles with car pass ‘Y’ would be parked opposite the Multi-Purpose Hall below Legislators Home.
Parking at Kisama Heritage Village: vehicles with car pass ‘Z’ and ‘D’ would be parked at the main parking lot in the Heritage Village and along the Main arena; vehicles with car pass ‘Y’ would be parked at the Kisama Amphitheatre and others and vehicles without car pass would be parked at the parking lot opposite 2nd Gate.
Further, police informed that parking facilities would be available at multi-level car parking lot at Old NST & Old Medical Directorate free of cost from April 3-6, 2023. Vehicle owners are advised to use the facilities to avoid any inconvenience and congestion.
Parking lot near Hotel Crescent International will be reserved for delegates of the B-20 Summit.
‘No Entry’ for heavy vehicles within Kohima town would be enforced from 6am to 9pm for three days. The restriction would be enforced at interstate Khuzama check gate and Duzdza bridge.
Kohima police have sought cooperation from all citizens to ensure smooth conduct of the G20 Business Summit.
‘No Drone Zone’: As part of the security arrangements for the G20 business summit, the Kohima police have declared the whole of Kohima district under Kohima municipal as “No Drone Zone” from April 4-6.
Kohima police PRO informed that flying of any remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) such as drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) etc would be restricted. Police cautioned that violation of the directive would amount to suspension or cancellation of UIN/ UAOP of the RPA issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and would be prosecuted under relevant section of laws.
