KVK, NU to boost potato production in Zunheboto

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Zunheboto, Nagaland University, in a major development to boost potato production in Zunheboto, initiated a programme to help potato grower. The programme was sponsored by IARI, New Delhi.
A press release by KVK Zunheboto stated that under the programme, total of 8000 Kgs of potato seeds were distributed to 65 farmers from four villages namely, Keltomi, Tichipami, Zhaphumi and Litta New on December 7.
Farmers were provided with potato seeds of Kufri Jyoti varieties which possessed good yielding potential of 20 tonnes per hectare and resistant to late and early blight disease.
