Nagaland: Landslide cuts off road at New Peren

Landslide triggered by heavy rainfall has completely cut off some portion of the road between New Peren and Chalkot Junction under Peren district.
According to DIPR report, the road is considered to be the lifeline and shortcut road that leads to Tening sub-division via Mbaulwa range.
The report stated that the landslide was triggered by heavy rainfall that occurred in the afternoon of August 30, 2022. However, no casualties or injuries were reported.
The report further stated that since the onset of monsoon season, the commuters of Tening and Nsong areas have been facing untold hardships and miseries owing to the deplorable road conditions.
