Last rite of Assam policeman completed

The last rite of Bidya Sing Lekthe who was killed in the Mukroh firing was held with full state honor in presence of Executive Members of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Amar Sing Tisso and Ritesh Enghi, member of Autonomous Council Krishna Bhatta Rai,and the members of Hills People’s Cultural Forum.
They also represented the Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang. Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council has decided to establish a school in his native village and erect a statue at the place of the unfortunate incident. The council authority has also paid ex-gratia of rupees five lakhs to the kin of the deceased.
Deputy Commissioner and superintendent of police of West Karbi Anglong paid floral tribute to the mortal remains of Bidya Sing Lekthe. A contingent of Assam Police personnel presented a gun salute and bugle rendition to mark the end of the funeral ceremony.
