Along with the rest of the world, Let’s Do it India Foundation (LDIF) Nagaland Unit commemorated World Clean Up Day at Dimapur on September 16, in collaboration with Lions Club and Medicos. Volunteers from several organizations, along with more than 200 students from four colleges and five schools, took part in the cleanliness drive initiated by LDIF state unit.
The volunteers were divided into five groups, with the cleanliness drive carried out at five locations, Dimapur District Sports Complex (DDSC) to Khermahal, Khermahal to Clock Tower, Clock Tower to Holy Cross He Sec School, Hotel Saramati and Dimapur SC Complex.
A bicycle rally was also flagged off by president, LDIF State unit, Hinoka A Chophi.
Delivering a short address before the drive, state advisor, LDIF, Imnaningkum Longkumer informed the gathering that LDIF was an international organization founded by Prof. Pankaj Choudhary, in 2016, and the foundation has now more than 22 lakh active volunteers all across the country.
He expressed appreciation to all the volunteers for sacrificing their time in trying to keep the city clean, and hoped that this gathering would be the beginning of a new chapter for more collaboration in the future.
