Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH), NWHD condemn Guwahati airport incident

Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH), the apex women body of the Lotha Naga tribe, has unequivocally condemned the “barbaric ordeal” meted out to one of its elderly bonafide member Mrs. Mhalo Kikon and her young granddaughter by CISF personnel at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati during a security check on March 24, 2022.
In a condemnation note, by LEH president R. Zuchobeni Ezong and general secretary Loseno Ovung also appealed to both the chief ministers of Assam and Nagaland to “immediately initiate appropriate action against the perpetrators of such heinous crimes against humanity.”
LEH further said it was “sheer inhumanity to force an octogenarian on a wheelchair with a hip implant to remove her clothes including her undergarments and diaper.” It added that this amounted to not only physical and mental harassment but was also a violation of an individual’s right to dignity guaranteed by the Constitution of India.”
LEH also urged all right-thinking citizens to condemn such inhuman and barbaric ordeal meted out to a senior citizen.
NWHD: Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) also condemned the harassment and misconduct committed on the 80-year-old Naga woman, Mhalo Kikon and her granddaughter at the Lopkpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati by the CISF personnel.
NWHD said such unpleasant behavior by security personnel was unacceptable and intolerable which clearly showed that the airport security personnel malicious intent and racist attitude towards Mhalo Kikon and her granddaughter in particular and to Nagas as a whole in general.
The hoho said it strongly stood by demand to disclose the details/identities of the security personnel and the validity of the proof of their suspension so that such unfortunate act will be avoided in the future.
