Nagaland: Land Owner Union (LOU) threatens to seize road work machinery

Alleging poor workmanship in the ongoing construction of NH-61(New NH-2) along the 72km to 83km stretch by TTC Infra company, the affected Land Owner Union NH-61 (72 KM-83 KM) has threatened to seize the machinery if its concerns were not addressed within month.

LOU NH-61 convenor Vandan Erui and secretary Khyothungo Ezung stated that the workmanship was not up to the mark. They said that isolation of the pavement especially within town area was creating traffic congestion and causing inconvenience to pedestrians. It said that slow construction process has caused deplorable road conditions especially during rainy seasons.

The union has, therefore, urged the construction company/authority to expedite the issues raised within stipulated period. Failure to addressed the issues, LOU said it would be forced to seize the machinery without any condition and information as deemed fit. LUO cautioned that in case of any eventuality, the union would not be held responsible.
