The Centre on Tuesday slashed the prices of domestic cooking gas by Rs. 200 per cylinder for all domestic consumers as it looked to counter the cheaper LPG promise of the Congress in upcoming assembly elections in states like Madhya Pradesh.
Domestic LPG price in Dimapur was Rs. 1,121.50 per cylinder and after the price cut it will now cost Rs. 921.50. In Kohima, the price of LPG was Rs. 1122 and with the price cut it will cost Rs. 922 per cylinder. Announcing the decision after the cabinet meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said the move is aimed at providing relief to households.
