Even as the doctors in Manipur continue with indefinite protest over their pending demands, the Zeliangrong Civil Organisations (ZCOs) have appealed to the Manipur government to take concrete measure so the agitating doctors resume their duty at the earliest possible consider the suffering of the common people.
ZCOs including Zeliangrong Baudi and Zeliangrong Youth Front through their media and publicity cell stated that the medical doctors’ indefinite strike, which was launched more than days ago, has extremely impacted to the economically distressed hills people in the absence of other alternative health care services centres in the hills districts.
ZCOs maintained that the demands raised by medical doctors seemed to be “genuine” and required consideration by the government. The ZCOs have also urged the doctors to consider the suffering of the common people.
Further, ZCOs have appealed to the Manipur government to hold talks with the doctors and explore every possible way to fulfil their demands. They said that delaying in resolving the issue could cause public uproar against the government as well as the agitating doctors “as the life of the common people cannot be reduced to that of valueless commodities and rendered into unnecessary suffering for any longer.”
