Lotha colony collects most plastic wastes
Colonies, shopkeepers, business establishments within Dimapur jurisdiction were seen actively participating during the district’s mass social work, here on Saturday.
The social work was mobilised by colony chairmen, GBs and sanitation committees.
Appreciating the active participation from the public, Dimapur Municipal Council administrator, Albert Ezung said that it showed cooperation towards keeping the city clean, green and healthy.
Meanwhile, Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) and GB union Sardar acknowledged DMC administrator for giving them the responsibility to mobilise the mass social work.
They also lamented that they could not take all the assessments in all the respective colonies due to time limitations.
Earlier, Lotha Colony, ward No. 14 emerged winner of the “most collected plastic waste” while Niesato colony, medical colony bagged the second prize and Xuvihe colony bagged the third prize.
Under the most collected plastic waste competition, only four out of 96 colonies participated under Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) where cash prizes for the colony with most collected waste was announced.
