DIMAPUR: In connection with the South Asian Athletic Federation (SAAF) Cross Country Championships and 56 National Cross Country Championships scheduled to be held in Kohima on March 26, a mass social work would be carried out in Kohima town on March 23 from 6 am to 9 am.
This was decided at the meeting held on March 22 convened by DC Kohima Gregory Thejawelie and attended by all heads of offices, representatives from AKMWP, AYO and ASU.
It was also decided that the social work would be carried out with the involvement of State Government employees, general public, district departmental officers, various Civil Societies and Organisations, ULBs, Colonies, Wards and GBs to make all the wards free of any kind of waste, rubble, muck, foliage and overgrowth etc.
Therefore, DC has informed that any kind of waste including debris and building materials, which may be creating public nuisance or giving dirty look along the roads and paths be removed or disposed off. District officers have been assigned as team leader to monitor and supervise the work at various designated locations and Colonies/wards to ensure their participation while AYO and ASU have been assigned to mobilize and assist the work.
