As part of monsoon preparedness, office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Niuland has informed that a mass social work would be held on May 27, 6 a.m. onwards throughout the district.
In a press release, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Niuland, T Lemlila Sangtam has directed the general public to clean their surroundings, jungles, drainages etc., and has asked all departments and stakeholders to take part in the social work.
ADC Niuland has asked the following departments to undertake the mentioned steps – EE (R&B), clear jungles and drainages on roadsides; EE (Power), check electric poles; medical, spray disinfectant/mosquito repellent in required areas; forest, check tress susceptible to storm damage; DEO, keep schools clean, healthy and safe.
Further, ADC Niuland has requested all concerned to proactively cooperate to keep the district safe and healthy during the monsoon.
