MCCI informs on license & registration

Taking note of some industrial units functioning without obtaining proper license/registration, Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) has asked all concerned to immediately obtain proper license or due registration with the competent authority.
In a press release, MCCI president, Tsukti Longkumer said the chamber received reports of some industrial units like iron and steel fabrication, saw mills, furniture house, motor workshops, stone crushers, rice mills, bricks kilns and other industrial units functioning in Mokokchung district without obtaining proper license/registration from the Chief Inspector of Factories, government of Nagaland.
MCCI said functioning without registration was an offense under Section 6 of the Factories Act, 1984 and punishable under the provisions of the Act with an imprisonment which can be extended up to six months or a fine which can be extended to Rs. 50,000 only or with both. In this regard, MCCI said it would not be responsible for addressing the grievances of any aggrieved party and that defaulters would be “on their own in the face of law”.
