Medical teams visit health centres; conduct camps

Medical teams have been organising visits to Primary Health Centre (PHCs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs) to assist and assess the implementation of various health schemes and programmes. The department also conducted outreach camps.
Kuhuboto PHC: A medical team comprising of senior specialist (obstetrics and gynaecology) District Hospital Dimapur, Dr. Yanrenthung Jami and district programme manager (quality assurance) Dimapur, Imlinoba Changkiri visited Kuhuboto Primary Health Centre (PHC) under Niuland district on May 10 to assist and assess in Extended Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhyaan (ePMSMA) activities.
A press release by the department informed that ePMSMA is a fixed day, assured comprehensive quality Antenatal care (ANC) Service provided to every pregnant woman across the country on 9th of every month.
Interacting with the staffs of the health units, Dr. Yanrenthung urged them to disseminate awareness on ePMSMA programme to communities and to encourage pregnant women to avail at least four ANC check-ups during their pregnancy to ensure safe delivery for both mother and child.
The department informed that Dr. Yanrenthung would be visiting all PHCs and CHCs under Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur to provide specialized ANC services to pregnant women, while Imlinoba re-orients the staff on quality and timely reporting of ePMSMA monthly report.
Dhansiripar block: A team led by District Surveillance Officer for National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) and Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), Dr. A. Kavito Zhimomi, visited health units under Dhansiripar Block to monitor and supervise activities under NVBDCP and IDSP on May 8-9.
A press release by the district programme management unit stated that during the visits, the team assessed implementation of health activities in health units, especially focusing on NVBDCP and IDSP activities.
The team also ensured that health programmes were being implemented efficiently and effectively to prevent any disease outbreak and to achieve goals of the programmes. Dr. Kavito interacted with ASHAs and village health committees to encourage them in supporting health units in all health activities and also apprised them on their roles and responsibilities.
The team also conducted a review meeting with senior medical officer, Community Health Centre (CHC) Dhansiripar, Dr. Khriekuolie Liezietsu and apprised him of their findings and feedbacks on performance of health activities under Dhansiripar Block. The team included epidemiologist, Dr. Molungtsungba Jamir, programme officer, surveillance USAID NISHTHA- Jhpiego, Dr. Antara Sharma and staffs under IDSP, NVBDCP, and NHM Dimapur and accompanied by Block Programme Manager, Dhansiripar Block.
The department informed that the team would continue visiting all health units under various blocks in the district in the coming weeks.
Phek: A Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) outreach camp was conducted on May 11 at Tehephu Village, wherein the medical team also carried out Interpersonal Education and Communication (IEC) activities.
A press release by the department informed that the medical team led by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Phek, Dr.Khriezotuo Paphino offered services to 86 patients including pregnant women and children.
The team included (obstetrics and gynaecology) District Hospital Phek,
Dr. Pangertemsu, DPO RCH/UIP, Dr. K. Pewezo Khalo, epidemiologist, Dr. Limatoshi, Dr. Chikhopalu, Dr. Chuvilu, RBSK nurse, nurses from sub-centres of Tehephu village, Suthostu and K. Khuno and various categories of staff from CMO office.
