Medziphema inter-ward football tournament

Beilieze ward-2 emerged as the champion of the first edition of Medziphema inter-ward football league tournament held at local ground Medziphema. While Loliba ward-8 emerged as the runners-up.
The player of the tournament was awarded to Kikruzelie; top scorer – Neithovilie Chalieu & Nourhielhoulie Vasa; best keeper – Keviseyie Vasa and best discipline team – Khenuba ward -7. Gracing the final match as the guest of honour, general secretary JDU Nagaland, Kitoho S Rotokha, challenged the players to first ask oneself, ones worth and get serious about their goal, be it sport or any other profession. While lamenting the lack of proper sporting infrastructure in the state, he acknowledged the immense talent that sprouted out despite all these set back. He encouraged the sportsperson not to be disheartened as they are second to none and urged them to take advantage of Khelo India.
Urging the gathering, Rotokha mentioned Medziphema as a mini-Nagaland and asked everyone to come out of the tribalism and work together for the prosperity of the state. He added that it is every individual’s duty to do their best and strive towards a better tomorrow.
