Meeting-cum-orientation on PPC in Mkg


A meeting-cum-one day orientation programme on people’s plan campaign (PPC) – Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) with line departments, Mokokchung was held on Thursday at the conference hall of DC office, Mokokchung.
Delivering her keynote address, project director DRDA Mokokchung, Toshimongla Kichu, said that Gram Panchayats have been mandated for the preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) every year for economic and social justice. She goes on to add that the planning process needs to be comprehensive and based on participatory process involving full coverage with activities related to all centrally sponsored programmes which has necessitated today’s orientation programme.
Kichu asserted that an effective strategy for preparing of GPDP in campaign mode – people’s plan campaign (PPC) is where all the departments play a role. She also informed that the campaign has started from October 2, 2022 which will continue till January 31, 2023 as “Sabki Yojana Sabki Vikas” (Everybody’s Plan, Everyone’s Growth/Development). She added that the main objective of the GPDP is to involve people in the planning process to ensure identification of the gaps as well as problems and address them at the grass root level.
She further informed that during the campaign, structured Gram Sabha meetings will be held for preparing the GPDP from the next financial year 2023-2024 with the active physical involvement of frontline workers/supervisors of all 29 sectors in XI schedule through the integration of sustainable development goals (SDGs) in GPDP. Kichu called upon the line departments for collective responsibility to join hands to make the campaign a success. She also thanked the various line departments for attending the training and added that she looks forward for their cooperation and active participation to fulfil the objective of “Sabki Yojana Sabki Vikas”.
Meanwhile, at the programme, deputy director DRDA Mokokchung, Imyapangla, presented a slide show on PPC – GPDP. The programme was chaired by additional deputy commissioner Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe and attended by various departments. It is to be noted that DRDA is the nodal department for this campaign.
