Metsubo asks PDs, BDOs to ‘finish pending targets’ with extra effort

Minister for Rural Development department, Metsubo Jamir on Wednesday asked project directors (PDs) and block development officers (BDOs) to be sincere and to give extra effort in order “to finish pending targets”.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the status reports, the minster urged upon the PDs to be more responsible while discharging their duties and BDOs to keep updating with their respective PDs.
A press release by the department informed that the minister was speaking at the performance review meeting with project directors of DRDAs and block development officers under Rural Development department in the RD conference hall, Kohima under the chairmanship of director, RD, Liboni Humtsoe.
Addressing the meeting, Metsubo called upon the officers to attend such meetings whenever called, in order to keep updated on progress of programmes and for thorough discussion on challenges and hurdles faced while implementing programmes.
Meanwhile, commissioner and secretary, RD Neposo Theluo highlighted issues and difficulties faced under several schemes and sought the support and cooperation of officers in solving pending issues.
He also reminded the PDs and BDOs to be thorough with guidelines provided by the ministry for programmes being implemented and to follow rules and regulations.
The meeting discussed and reviewed various programmes including Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), MGNREGA, Grand-in-Aid, VDB Welfare Fund, Micro-Finance & UC, Fifteenth Finance Commission Grant to RLB and Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA).
Later, vote of thanks was proposed by additional director, RD, Azenuo Pienyü.
