The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) constituted committee headed by advisor North East AK Mishra held a closed-door meeting with the office-bearers of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) here on Wednesday.
Sources informed Nagaland Post that the meeting was “cordial” and both sides deliberated on how to go about the agreement for ‘Frontier Naga Territory’.
It was learnt that the Centre and the ENPO were yet to sign the agreement for the new arrangement.
Sources said that the next meeting was likely to take place in Delhi.
According to sources, both the Centre and ENPO would be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) before implementation of the new arrangement.
No further details were made known till the time of filing this report.
Later, Mishra accompanied by other members of the team– joint director Intelligence Bureau Dr. Mandeep Singh Tuli and MHA director North East Division, AK Dhyani called on chief minister Neiphiu Rio at his residence.
It may be mentioned that the MHA after series of meeting with ENPO considered to offer ‘Frontier Naga Territory’ for Eastern Nagaland areas.
