The council of the Kiruphema Bawe village under the 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency was inaugurated by Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse on Thursday at old Kiruphema village.
Gracing the programme as special guest, the minister hoped that through the newly inaugurated hall, justice would be delivered to the people of the upcoming generation in doing what was right.
She claimed that village councils played a vital role in upholding the laws and practices as empowered by the constitution and in a democratic set-up, the Village Councils are the authority and no other authority could hinder the functioning system.
Maintaining that council hall should deliver justice with the presence of God, the minister encouraged the cultural team of Kiruphema village to not lose their tradition or culture but to keep it alive as Kiruphema was an old village with a superior history.
Kruse acknowledged the gathering and invitees for attending the inaugural function with the new building which stood for unity towards higher future.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Kekhrievituo Dahou, invocation was offered by pastor Kiruphema Baptist Church, Viletuo Vielie, welcome address by chairman Kiruphema Bawe village council, Hekho Hesielie, special number from Neilasielie and team, brief report of village council hall was also presented by convenor building committee, Neingukholie Vielie, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dzüviu Zhünyü.
