MITE organises outreach activity ‘no to plastic’ at Phesama

Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima organised a community learning and outreach activity on the “Nai Talim” programme topic titled “No to Plastic” at Phesama village on May 25.
In a press release, coordinator of the village visit, Dr. Velankanni Alex informed that the visit was organised as a part of “Nai Talim” and MITE’s outreach activities to enable student-teachers to develop awareness on engaging in community services and “No to Plastic.”
At the programme, 100 student-teachers of the second semester were divided into four groups and participated in a cleanliness drive.
They visited Government Middle School Phesama and interacted with students and played a skit titled “No to Plastic.”
Dr. Velankanni Alex also spoke on the theme.
After the school visit, the student-teachers met Phesama Village Council president and held a meeting with regard to the spirit of giving back to the community and caring for society.
They also discussed the importance of village cleanliness and avoiding the usage of plastic for a better environment.
The program ended with distribution of prizes to student-teachers and vote of thanks.
