A month-long Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) certificate course on “wild beekeeping & processing” organised by ENVIS Hub, Nagaland, host organisation Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) which commenced on November 16 concluded Wednesday at Trongar village, Tuensang district with assistant bank manager, State Bank of India, Chare, Kekhrieletuo Chase as chief guest.
In a press release, ENVIS Hub Nagaland informed that in his speech, Kekhrieletuo shared his experience in beekeeping and encouraged the trainees to utilise and implement the training.
He advised them to sustain their livelihood through wild beekeeping and advised them not to give up their dreams but to attain their goals even during hardships as nothing in life came easy.
The programme was hosted by information officer, ENVIS Hub, Nagaland Khriehunuo Rutsa, invocation was said by Trongar Baptist Church pastor, A. Thejung and vote of thanks by programme officer, ENVIS Hub, Nagaland, Limitsa S Sangtam.
Earlier, a short speech was delivered by Trongar village, village council chairman, Lidongse where he thanked host organisation NPCB and ENVIS team for organising a training programme that would benefit villagers in general and trainees in particular.
Speech on behalf of the trainees was delivered by Lisechum and Muthe where they expressed gratitude and shared their knowledge and experience gained during the training.
Later, the chief guest presented certificates to the trainees.
The valedictory function was attended by all 30 trainees, ENVIS officials and village council members.
It may be mentioned that the trainees were given both technical and practical sessions along with hands on training on wild beekeeping and processing.
They were also taken on exposure field trips for better understanding and to learn more about scientific beekeeping.
