BJP national president JP Nadda concluded his two-day visit to the State and left for Delhi on Friday evening.
On Friday morning, Nadda arrived at the airport here by a chopper from Kohima and was accorded warm welcome by BJP karyakartas (workers).
He then left for Niathu Resort by leading an auto-rickshaw rally where around 250 auto-rickshaws took part. He was accompanied by deputy chief minister and BJP Legislative Party leader Y Patton, BJP legislators and other State unit office-bearers.
At Niathu Resort, a short programme was held after which Nadda left for the deputy chief minister’s residence to hold a meeting with State BJP Core Committee.
State BJP president Temjen Imna Along tweeted that the State BJP Core Committee meeting was fruitful and discussed strategies to ensure the party’s victory in the upcoming Assembly election.
Sources said Nadda also met former governor and chief minister Dr SC Jamir at his residence before holding the meeting with BJP Core Committee.
Earlier during the day, Nadda visited the Mary Help of Christians Cathedral in Kohima, accompanied by State BJP president and minister Temjen Imna Along Rajya Sabha MP Phangnon Konyak and other senior BJP leaders.
