Naga-Assamese Literary meet held in Kohima

Under the initiative of the Assamese Megazine “Patabhumi” and in association with Kohima Sahitya Sabha located at P.R. Hill Kohima, Naga –Assamese Literary meet was held under the chairmanship of Chandan Changmai, president of the Kohima Sahitya Sabha on January 21.
A press release by Dr HN Dutta, Vice Chancellor of The Global Open University Nagaland stated that the meet was to discuss on bringing out a special issue of Patabhumi covering the history, tradition and culture of the people of Nagaland.
The literary meet was attended by Vezuho Keyhho, principal, Capital College of Higher Education of Editor and scholar Dr Vizonovo Elizabeth, eminent archaeologist Professor Tiatoshi Jamir, Nagaland University, the editor of Patabhumi Robin Bhuyan, members of the Kohima Sahitya Sabha and other delegates from Assam.
It was discussed at length about the different areas to be covered in the special issue of the Patabhumi about the history and culture of the Nagas.
In the literary meet convened by Dr. H.N.Dutta, Vice Chancellor, TGOUN, lighted the lamp and discussed at length about the great educator Padmanath Gohain Barua and how as a Head Master of the Kohima English School Padmanath Gohain Barua contributed to the promotion of education among the various sections of Naga, Assamese, Bengali, Manipuri, Nepali students by writing books. He said that that the Patabhumi magazine would continue to uphold the process of good will between the Nagas and the Assamese existed since early historical times.
