Naga society not progressing due to lack of self-sustenance: Azo

Naga People’s Front (NPF) legislature party leader and UDA co-chairman, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu on Tuesday, stated that Naga society was not progressing due to lack of self-sustenance.
He asserted that if every individual in the community was self-reliant, there would be peace and harmony.
In a press release, NPF press bureau stated that Azo was speaking as special guest at the 2nd general body meeting of the women self-help group (SHG), Phek Block Level Federation of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) at Phek town hall.
Azo expressed dismay at Nagas being dependent and not hard working enough and stressed on the need for every individual to work for self-sustenance.
The NPF leader expressed happiness over Naga women, who were at par with the menfolk and opined that women were “doing excellent than men” as they were “more sincere and dedicated.” He lauded various schemes and programmes provided by the government, particularly NSRLM for the womenfolk and observed that the dedicated women were going ahead of men.
Exhorting the women, Azo encouraged them to put God first and work with honesty and dedication in order to progress. “When the whole society is self-reliant then the society will be corruption free”, he asserted.
On clean election, the NPF leader stressed that it has to start from the individual and community.
In his speech, DRDA project director Razukhru D. Vasa expressed happiness over how the status of women was progressing due to SHG programmes.He also lauded Phek Block Level Federation for utilising the schemes properly.
Short speeches were also delivered by Zhalie Puro, ADPM NSRLM Phek and Heipeuding Ilunglung, BDO cum BMM NSRLM Phek. Later, the NPF leader also unveiled rostrum of the new playground of Phek Basa Village.
