Naga wrestler wins bronze at UWW event

Naga wrestler, Vekhonielü Curhah, won a bronze medal in the 55 Kg Women’s Classic Style category at the ongoing United World Wrestling (UWW), Asian Belt-Wrestling Championship held at Jizzakh in Uzbekistan.
She is representing the country in three styles including Women’s Classic Style, Women’s Freestyle and Women’s Qazak Kuresi all in the 55 Kg category.
She along with another Naga athlete participating as a referee at the event, Khrievotuo Nicholas Sekhose, are part of the team of 10 athletes representing India at the event which started on May 23.
Team India comprised of All India Traditional Wrestling & Pankration Federation (AITWPF) president Omarmukhtar Tamboli, 6 athletes and 3 referees.
The other athletes are Francis Ricardo Ranee Songthiang, Sudhir Hanmant Pundekar, Dipesh Kamlakar Jambale, Sheetal Mallikarjun Kharatmal and Sharmila Sitamani Naik
The two other referees are, Shailendra Kumar Pathak and Naval Kishore.
