In a first of its kind, NAGABOTS in collaboration with StartUP Nagaland- Dept. of Industries & Commerce conducted Nagaland’s Premier Robotics event, “Techmorphosis” at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma on March 25. The event was partnered by Kohima Science College, Dept. of Employment, skill development & entrepreneurship and UCO Bank.
In a press statement, NagaBots informed that there were 127 registered participants including school students, college students and other working professionals attending the programme from over 14 Institutions from Kohima and Dimapur. Altogether, over 500 spectators witnessed the competition, which had various categories like RoboChamp, Scratch, App Inventor, Basic Electronics, Arduino and also Innovation Challenge. The Mini-Hackathon, ‘Capture the Flag’ was the highlight of the event where students of Classes 6 and 7 from various schools took part.
Joint secretary, investment and development, authority of Nagaland, Reny Wilfred was the special guest of the event. Invocation was pronounced by Northfield Hr. Sec. School, Kohima, chairman, Pheluopfhelie Kesiezie and Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, principal, Dr. Temjenwapang delivered the welcome address, this was followed by presentation, keynote address by Dept. of Industries and Commerce, assistant director and team leader, Er. Keneirienuo K Theunuo. The judges for the seven categories are all renowned personalities from the tech world. The first position for the categories ‘Innovation Challenge’ and ‘Minihackathon’ were won by Er. Rishav Sethi and Fernwood School, Kohima, respectively.
