Nagaland: Assam Rifles organise dental camp, social activities

Various battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hq IGAR (North) has been engaged in organising various welfare and social activities which were beneficial to the local populace.


Shamator battalion organised free dental check-up and immediate treatment at Noklak town on March 13.
30 NCC girl cadets from 1 Nagaland NCC Bn also attended the free dental check-up. Toothbrush and toothpaste kits were distributed to local children.
Jalukie battalion handed over various items for drip-irrigation system to promote organic/ natural farming to village council chairman at Samzuiram village, Peren on March 11. The attendees were also educated on fundamentals of drip irrigation farming and encouraged towards entrepreneurship at village level.


In another event, Jalukie battalion organised awareness lecture on “Know your Army Career guidance” for the students at Athibung town and Nchengram, Peren district, on March 11. The event was organised with the dual aim of creating awareness regarding various commissions and entries in Army and also motivating students to join defence forces. A brief lecture on Indian defence forces along with salient battles fought by Indian Army was delivered to the students. Emphasis was also laid down on various women entry schemes.
The battalion also carried out a cleanliness drive in collaboration with local populace at Nchengram village. The drive was aimed to achieve the vision of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.
