The Chakhesang Clean Election Movement (CCEM) team has visited the check gates in various villages and towns under Phek district on February 22. As a spiritual exercise, the team stopped over in town junctions claiming the territories to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The team also participated in the “Common Platform” jointly organized by CCEM and Phek Area Baptist Church Council (PABCC) where chairman CCEM, Rev. Vezopa Rhakho, addressed the gathering in Phek town.
The tour started from CBCC Mission Center, Pfütsero around 7:30 am and visited Chizami Town, Sakraba Town, Phek Town, Khuza Town, Sekrüzu Town, Chozuba Town and finally halted at Chetheba Baptist Church for a brief review and deliberation of the action plans post-election.
The CCEM appealed all the esteemed Chakhesang leaders and all the citizens of Phek district to hold peaceful, free and fair election and to check and refrain from any form of malpractices. The CCEM gave all glory and praises to God for His guidance and help in all its initiatives so far and expressed its sincere gratitude to all the people who gave their unflinching support particularly the Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) for their sacrificial services involving 1000 women and youth volunteers manning more than 100 gates across Phek district, out of genuine concern for the society.
The CMA volunteers have been checking all vehicles to prevent liquor and other illegal substances from entering the district. The CCEM also appreciated all the individuals who have committed to support and abide by the guidelines of the CCEM for the ensuing election.
“The movement for positive change has begun and gradually developing into a great wave in our land”, said Rev. Rhakho.
The CCEM reiterated its appeal to each citizen to use their vote power to get rid of the corrupt system in the society. It also called upon the young and old to participate in the Clean Election Movement and be the agents of positive change.
