Nagaland: Drug education & awareness programme in Zunheboto

A programme on drug education and awareness for pharmacists and small shop owners was held on July 28 at town hall, Zunheboto.
According to a DIPR report, the objective of the programme was to create awareness of the misuse of drugs, and laws about the sale of items under the category of the medicinal substance.
Speaking on the Drugs & Cosmetic Act and the role of pharmacists, drug inspector Zunheboto, Boto Sema highlighted the storage of medicines, the right way of dealing with patients, record maintenance, and sale of restricted medicines like cough syrup.
He emphasised on strict maintenance of the rules and added that the pharmacists should only buy from registered whole sellers.
The opening remark was given by ADC and administrator Zunheboto Town Council, Moakumzuk Tzudir while SDPO Zunheboto, Shikato Swu explained the offences and punishments under the NDPS Act.
Short speeches were also delivered by ZCCI and GBs Union Zunheboto Town. The programme was chaired by ZRSU president, Gihuka K Zhimo and a vote of thanks was proposed by EAC Zunheboto, Mopling.
