Nagaland Governor, chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy CM Y. Patton extend greetings

Nagaland Governor, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, chief minister Neiphiu Rio and deputy CM Y. Patton have extended greetings on the occasion of Metemneo and Biam festivals.
Prof. Mukhi greeted the Khiamniungan community and the people of the State on the occasion of Biam festival.
On the occasion, he said Khiamniungans emphasize on the importance of food grain storage and consider empty granary a taboo. Traditional rituals performed during the festival reflects the harmonious coexistence of the community with the environment, he added and urged all, especially the youths to imbibe and carry forward the cultural values of the festival.
Further, governor also extended Metemneo festival greetings to the people of Nagaland, particularly Yimkhiung community.
Besides, seek blessings for a bountiful crop- millet in particular, Prof Mukhi said people pray for the deceased souls and also for a good harvest.
Traditional rituals of this festival reveals the importance of proper sanitation and hygiene, he added.
He wished both the communities good health, happiness and prosperity.
CM: In a tweet, chief minister Neiphiu Rio greeted the Yimkhiung community on the occasion of Metemneo festival. “May the festivity strengthen familial and social bonds. I wish you all a happy and a safe Metemneo,” he tweeted.
Dy.CM: Deputy chief minister Y. Patton has greeted the Yimkhungs on the occasion of Metemneo festival.
Patton said that the post harvesting of millets is celebrated as a time for thanksgiving, forgiveness and remembering the departed. It is a good opportunity to celebrate in one spirit, setting aside differences and boundary barriers, he added.
On behalf of the state BJP legislators, Patton conveyed heartiest festive greetings and hoped that it is celebrated with joy and happiness.
Further, Patton also congratulated Jagdeep Dhankar, for being elected as the 14th Vice President of India. Patton said that Dhankhar, with his vast knowledge in legal affairs and Indian politics, was best suited to chair the Upper House. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, Patton wished him the best of health and foresight during his tenure.
