Nagaland NSF Trophy: Fifa, Ura Uvie enter semifinals


Fifa FC and Ura Uvie FC entered the semifinals of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy after winning their respective matches at IG Stadium, here on Friday.
In the first quarter-final, Fifa FC overcame defending champions Head Hunters FC 2-1. Head Hunters’ Pursunep score the first goal in the 10th minute.
Fifa’s captain Ronald Saikhom scored the equalizer in the 52nd minute.
He went on to double the scoreline in the 70th minute and helped his team secure a sport in the semis. The man of the match was awarded to Fifa’s Jayananda Moirangthem Singh.
In the second final, Ura Uvie dominated Vapfüma Gaziphema FC Manipur 4-0. Ura’s Shürhosel Zhotso scored the first two goals in the 1st and 42nd minutes.
The remaining two were scored by Kevisanyü Peseyie in the 42nd minute and 92nd minutes.
The man of the match was awarded to Ura’s Hekato Aye.
Earlier, during the last two pre-quarter final matches, Unity FC Meriema and Shillong Lajong emerged victorious.
Unity FC beat Viswemi FC 3-0.
Unity’s Kenei Viluo scored the first goal in the 55th minute. His teammate, Asekho, added the second goal while Asezo sealed the deal in the dying minute of the game. Unity’s Kenei Viluo was named man of the match.
In the last pre-quarter final match, Shillong Lajong displayed complete dominance as it decimated Pochury Students Union 8-0.
Lajong’s, Gladdy netted two goals in the 19th and 37th minutes.
The rest of the goals were each scored by fellow teammates, Chanmitre, Wadajied, Everbright Son, Samuel Vanlalpeka, Atlan Kharman and Henry Ford in the 30th, 34th, 72nd 76th, 78th and 80th minutes of the game respectively. Atlan Kharmaw was named man of the match.
