To check and monitor the record of guests, Nagaland Police have launched “Hotel check-in system” in the mini conference hall, PHQ here on Wednesday.
The system was launched by director general of police, Rupin Sharma. Under the new system, Sharma said that hotels would be required to register in the site with a valid email address and submit the details of all guests on a daily basis.
It was also introduced to ease the work of police while ensuring a secure system for the state and to prevent use of fake identities by unscrupulous people, Sharma said.
The new online system will also assist the police in monitoring records of guests staying in all hotels and guest houses across the state.
Hoteliers and proprietors will be able to view the summary of their guest records entered in the system to avoid duplication.
The DGP said that under the digitized system, Nagaland police personnel could also access the site across different levels-at the state, district or police station and view records of the hotels and guests registered within their jurisdiction.
Further, Sharma informed that the database of government registered vehicles that were auctioned in the past years have also been obtained to monitor and prevent misuse of government vehicles. He said in the past four days, around 100 vehicles without number plates were seized by the police.
A brief report of the system was presented by Proprietor, Elysium Enterprise, Bendang Imchen and the lunching programme was chaired by SP(SCRB) Y Ruth Muru.
