Nagaland: Training on waste segregation & plastic waste management

Information Education Communication (IEC) programme-cum-training on waste segregation and plastic waste management was conducted on August 3 and 5 at Aboi, Mon and Longleng respectively.
In Aboi, the training was conducted by LIFE NGO under SBN 2.0 at the conference hall of additional deputy commissioner (ADC) office Aboi, Mon.
According to DIPR report, extra assistant commissioner (EAC) Longching, Dr. Cthitu Nienu welcomed the team members and participants and appreciated them for conducting a much-needed programme for the public of Aboi sub-division.
Resource person, Nicky Jamir and her team from LIFE NGO gave a presentation on waste segregation and plastic waste management and the role of community participation which was followed by an interaction session.
The programme was attended by various organisations, civil societies, and stakeholders from Aboi.
Longleng: In Longleng, the training was conducted for Urban Local Body (ULB) staff and stakeholders under the state mission directorate at the conference hall of deputy commissioner (DC) office Mon.
According to a DIPR report, resource persons, Niksangla Jamir and Athungbeni from Living for Environment (Life) NGO gave presentation on improper disposal; impact on air by waste; diseases caused by waste; ban on plastic carrier bags; global top waste stream, and top waste stream in India and Nagaland.
The meeting was chaired by SDO (C) Longleng, Trongdiba Tongpi Sangtam and attended by public leaders, GBs, ward leaders, PSC, and church leaders.
