Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Zunheboto, Nagaland University conducted its 12th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting at KVK, conference Hall, Lumami, on June 22.
In a press release, KVK Zunheboto, NU informed that chairman of the programme, Nagaland University vice chancellor Prof. Pardeshi Lal stressed upon providing the right crop, right seed varieties suited to local conditions, use of disease resistant varieties so that productivity of crops at farmer’s field could be increased significantly
He gave an insight on various programme implemented by the government of India for agriculture development.
Prof. Pardeshi also asked all the department of agri and allied to join hands so that the farming communities get benefited from new technologies.
At the programme, annual report of 2021 was presented by principal scientist and head, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia where he briefed the house about various programmes undertaken during 2021.
SMS, (Agril. ext) Dr. Kundan Kuma highlighted annual action plan which would be carried out during 2022 while progressive farmers, Holuto Ayemi and Kakuto provided suggestions in the discussion on how to go ahead in agri. and allied sector.
Inputs were also provided by DSCO, Zunheboto, Hetoho Y Sumi, dy. PD ATMA, Zunheboto, Vikaho Chopi and other members of agri and allied departments.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by CTO (A/PBG), Dr. Visakho Shunyu and vote of thanks was proposed by SMS (Animal Science), Dr. Z. Nongothung Ezung.
Each year, SAC is conducted by KVK to discuss matters related to its technical performance by advisory committee members where agriculture and allied department, progressive farmers and subject specialist of KVK Zunheboto participate.
