NASSA suspends ongoing protest as officer resigns

Nagaland Assembly Secretariat Staff Association (NASSA) along with the Joint Action Committee (JAC), which launched a protest since June 3 against the “arbitrary amendment” of service rules to facilitate reappointment of retired NLA secretary Dr. PJ Antony as the administrative head of department (AHoD), decided to call off a month-long agitation with effect from Thursday after the official tendered his resignation on Wednesday.
According to NASSA general secretary Talirenla, and JAC secretary SezotoTheyo, the decision to call off the strike was taken after Dr Antony tendered his resignation from the post of principal secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat (NLAS) .
It may recalled that NASSA launched it agitation with a pen down strike on June 3 which was gradually intensified in the subsequent days.
NASSA expressed gratitude to the parliamentary committee headed by Chotisuh Sazo, MLA for their tireless efforts and wisdom in bringing an amicable solution to the issue.
The association extended its appreciation to the Chief Minister for prioritising and ensuring a fast track solution to the issue.
It also acknowledged the support of NSF, ENSF, CANSSEA, NLSF, Ex-Parliamentarians, district administration, police and all the right-thinking citizens who extended their unflinching support to the association.
NASSA lauded the chief minister for prioritizing and ensuring a fast-track solution to the issue. It also expressed appreciation to senior officers and staff of the Assembly Secretariat.
