National Christian Council holds joint meeting

National Christian Council (NCC) Nagaland held a joint meeting with key leaders on January 22 at Eastern Bible College, Dimapur to jointly organise a NCC programme for wholistic peace and progress, especially for minorities.
In a press release, NCC Nagaland media cell informed that minister of state for minority affairs, government of India, John Barla would be the chief guest of the proposed programme.
During the meeting, NCC Nagaland president, Rev. Dr. TN Lotha Jr shared about NCC ministry from the NCC website https://nationalcouncil.in and informed the members present that NCC exists to serve the country by promoting peace and communal harmony.
The media cell stated that NCC collaborates with all like-minded organisations that were serving various communities and deal with the issues for rendering wholistic service to the needy in empowering them economically, socially and spiritually.
The media cell said NCC leaders were passionate about human rights and Christian rights and has represented the Christian minorities, Dalit/Tribal and Women’s issues in the United Kingdom Parliament in Parliament hearings and in the United States Senate in senatorial hearings, in the European Union and United Nations in New York, Geneva and in other Countries in the UN Conferences.
“NCC is faithfully and fruitfully participating in the mission of God in making disciples and providing shelter, education, food and waters to thousands of people resulting in wholistic peace and salvation”, stated the release.
The media cell informed that “very significant ideas” were contributed to make the programme successful by leaders namely Geoffrey Yaden, Editor Nagaland Post, Dr. Philip, Jt. Director (Rtd.SE.), president intellectual wing NCC Nagaland, Dr. S., Dr. Andrew Ahoto president Nagaland, vice president North East India YMCA and Dr. S. Aomangyang Walling, director (Rtd-Animal Husbandry Dept).
Leaders from various churches and organisation attended the joint meeting chaired by NCC Nagaland general secretary, Rev. Vanpong Phom. The meeting concluded with a prayer by Dr. Walling.
